More Than Wellness: Why I Created Live Your Wellness

By Christina Sabankaya, BSN, RNFounder of Live Your Wellness & Live Well IV

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to helping people through some of their hardest moments.

As a nurse, I’ve spent years caring for people in the emergency room—meeting patients and families on some of the most unexpected, overwhelming, and vulnerable days of their lives.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something:

Healthcare doesn't always teach us how to navigate our health. It teaches us what to do when something goes wrong.

But what about everything in between?

What happens when you're worried about your child and don't know whether you should go to the ER?What happens when a loved one is admitted to the hospital and suddenly you're trying to understand medical terminology, tests, medications, and next steps? What happens when you're discharged and you're still not quite sure what just happened—or what questions you should be asking?

And perhaps just as importantly…. What happens when you're the one who has been taking care of everyone else and you've forgotten how to take care of yourself?

Those questions are a big part of why Live Your Wellness was born.

My Journey Into Nursing

My nursing career has given me a front-row seat to life. I've cared for people during emergencies, uncertainty, pain, fear, and sometimes incredible moments of relief.

Working in the ER has taught me that health isn't just about lab values, diagnoses, medications, or procedures.

  • It's about people.

  • It's about the mom sitting beside her child wondering what's wrong.

  • It's about the husband trying to stay strong while his wife is being evaluated.

  • It's about the person who doesn't know what questions to ask.

  • It's about the family member who is overwhelmed by everything happening around them.

  • And it's about the patient who walks out of the hospital with a stack of discharge paperwork and thinks: “Okay… now what?”

I've seen how intimidating the healthcare system can feel when you're already scared.

And I've learned that sometimes one of the most valuable things we can offer another person is simply clarity, education, preparation, and someone who can help them understand what they're experiencing.

Resiliency Isn't About Doing It All

My work has also changed the way I think about wellness.

For me, wellness isn't about having a perfect routine, eating perfectly, exercising every day, or somehow managing to “have it all together.” Real life doesn't work that way.

I'm a mom. I'm a wife. I'm a nurse. I'm a business owner. Life can be full. And sometimes it's really, really hard. I've learned that resilience isn't about never struggling.

Resilience is learning how to move through the struggle without losing yourself in it.

It's learning when to push forward and when to rest.

It's recognizing your limits.

It's creating boundaries.

It's asking for help.

It's learning how to protect your peace while still showing up for the people you love.

And sometimes resilience looks less like “doing more” and more like finally giving yourself permission to pause.

That philosophy is at the heart of Live Your Wellness Resiliency Life Coaching.

Helping You Navigate the ER & Healthcare System

One of the areas I'm especially passionate about is helping individuals and families feel more prepared when navigating healthcare. Because you shouldn't have to be a nurse to understand what's happening to you or someone you love. My experience in emergency nursing gives me a unique perspective—not because I can predict what is happening medically, but because I've spent years seeing how patients and families experience the healthcare system from the other side of the bed.

Through education and coaching, my goal is to help you:

  • Feel more prepared when an unexpected health situation happens

  • Understand how to communicate effectively with your healthcare team

  • Know what questions you may want to ask

  • Better understand medical information and terminology

  • Prepare for conversations with healthcare providers

  • Advocate for yourself or someone you love

  • Navigate stressful healthcare experiences with more confidence

  • Know when it's important to seek professional medical care

This isn't about replacing your healthcare provider.

It's about helping you become a more informed and confident participant in your healthcare journey. Because sometimes, knowing what to ask can make all the difference.

And Then Came Live Well IV

As my passion for wellness continued to grow, another piece of the puzzle began to take shape. I wanted to create something that could meet people in the middle of real life.

  • Between the long work shifts.

  • Between raising kids.

  • Between workouts.

  • Between travel.

  • Between caring for everyone else.

  • Between the moments when life demands everything from you.

That's where Live Well IV came in;

Live Well IV brings mobile IV hydration and wellness injections directly to clients, creating a convenient way to incorporate certain wellness services into busy lives.

But for me, this business isn't just about an IV bag. It's about the bigger conversation around wellness.

It's about asking:

  • How are you really doing?

  • Are you recovering?

  • Are you resting?

  • Are you staying hydrated?

  • Are you making space for yourself?

  • Are you paying attention to what your body is telling you?

Wellness isn't one service, one supplement, one workout, or one perfect morning routine.

It's the collection of choices we make—and the support we give ourselves—over time.

Why “Live Your Wellness”?

I chose the name Live Your Wellness because wellness isn't something I believe we should simply check off a list. It's something we live. It looks different in every season.

Sometimes wellness looks like movement and healthy food.

Sometimes it looks like saying no.

Sometimes it looks like asking for help.

Sometimes it looks like sitting quietly for ten minutes.

Sometimes it means advocating for yourself in a doctor's office.

Sometimes it means taking care of the person you love.

And sometimes it means simply getting through a really difficult season and giving yourself credit for making it through.

You don't have to do wellness perfectly. You just have to keep choosing it.

A New Chapter

Starting a business while being a nurse, a mom, a wife, and everything else life requires has certainly stretched me. But it has also allowed me to create something that feels deeply connected to who I am. Live Your Wellness is my space for resilience, education, coaching, and helping people navigate the complicated parts of life and healthcare.

Live Well IV is another way I'm able to support people in their pursuit of wellness and recovery. They're different services, but they come from the same place:

I want people to feel supported, informed, cared for, and empowered.

Whether you're navigating a stressful healthcare experience, trying to become more resilient, caring for someone you love, or simply realizing that you've been running on empty for far too long—

I want you to know that wellness doesn't have to mean doing everything alone.

Sometimes you just need someone beside you who understands.

And that's what I'm building here.

Welcome to Live Your Wellness. Let's navigate it together.
